Hallelujah it’s Friiiiiiiiiiiiiday. I don’t know about you guys, but it’s been a hectic week over here and I am worn out. Zonked. Fried. Pooped. All the adjectives. I mentioned a few days ago that we were having our front room and living room painted this week, which was crazy exciting and something I’ve been thinking about doing for a long time now. Well that happened Wednesday and let’s just say it didn’t go as well as I had hoped…I have so much to say about the whole ordeal, but I think I’m going to just wait and explain it all in separate post. I don’t have the energy right now to get into it. Soooooo let’s just move right on to some fun things for today’s Friday Favorites. I have a cool little rug trick to share with you guys anid a few other random goodies.
Recently I was putting together the mini-nursery in our room and I needed a way to keep the rug in front of the crib from sliding around on our wood floor. I didn’t want to use one of those rubber mats, so I did a little digging around Amazon and came across these super simple rug grippers. I decided to give them a try and I was surprsied to find that actually worked really well! I thought it was a pretty cool little trick so I wanted to share with you guys!
So it comes with 4 grippers and all you do is peel and stick them onto the corners of the rug. Then push down firmly where you want the rug to stay and voila! No more slippery rug. These grippers also work if you have corners of your rug that always flip up!
Isn’t that a cool little trick?! I don’t know why I didn’t know about these before. I must have been living under a rug or something! Ha. See what I did there?
I picked up this striped woven table runner a few weeks ago and I kept forgetting to share it with you guys. I think this is perfect for spring and summer. Plus it’s under twenty bucks, so you can’t beat it. I love that it has a farmhouse, grainsack vibe. I also love these matching striped napkins.
Other tidbits from the week:
- I found this great article called “How I Learned to Stop Being So Afraid” and it talks about trusting God with our children and their safety. I’ve told you guys this before, but I really struggle with worrying all the time about my kids. I worry about these awful what-if scenarios and I’m constantly concerned about their safety/health/future. I always have to stop and remind myself to give my worries and anxiety over to God. I found this article midweek and it was really helpful. It shares some great tips to live with less fear and more peace.
- I’m still on the hunt for a new sofa for our living room. Buuuuut I had to pump the breaks a little to do a few other things that need to be done first. I’m still looking though, just in case I find one on super sale. Right now this one here is my top choice.
- Valentine’s Day isn’t far off and I’m starting to think of fun things to do with the kids. I love doing keepsake crafts with them, like cute things with their handprints. And I’m going to casually mention to my husband that I want a bar necklace like this purdy one here.
- We’re still battling some bad eczema with sweet little Ava. And she still isn’t sleeping well at night, which I think is related to her eczema. We had a doctor visit this week and they recommended we get an allergy test done to see if there’s more going on with her skin. They also recommended this ointment, which seems to be doing a decent job in combination with all the other creams we use for her. Poor little thing. I’m praying she starts sleeping better soon!
Well friends that’s all for me today. I hope you have the best weekend! See you back here Monday morning. xo
