It’s Fridaaaaaaaaayy!! Hooray! How was your week my friends? It’s been pretty eventful over here actually. I’ve been working like a busy little bee trying to finish up a ton of projects and random things before the baby comes. I’m officially at 38 weeks and she could be here any day now. How crazy is that?! It feels a bit surreal to be this close. I mean, I could start getting contractions at any moment. Maybe even before I’m done writing this post! But really I probably shouldn’t get myself too excited because I’ve been known to over-cook my babies. I was 41.5 weeks with my first and a few days over 40 weeks with my second. Yep, apparently I like to keep them in as loooooong as possible. It’s super fun. So really I’m thinking the likelihood of this baby coming any earlier than my due date is slim. Very slim. But a girl can dream, right? That’s what I tell myself. Anyway, enough baby talk for now, let’s move on to my Friday Favorites!
A Vintage Scale
Ok first up today is an old vintage scale. Raise your hand if you’re obsessed with antique scales! You guys, I’ve had this sitting in my “good storage” in our basement for like six months. I actually forgot about it, but I was down there the other day looking for something else and I found it. I was instantly reminded of the day I scored this gem at an auction last summer with my mom. I think I got it for $20 or something crazy cheap like that, which is an amazing deal. We all know antique scales can be insanely expensive, I’ve found many for $100+ at antique shops.
I brought it upstairs and styled it in an easy little centerpiece on our dining table. Don’t you just love the simple beauty of an old scale? You really don’t have to do much at all for them to shine. They’re seriously one of my favorite things. Fingers crossed I can find another one for a good deal this summer.
A Sweet Little Sign for Baby Girl
I am absolutely nowhere near having our new baby girl’s nursery ready. We’ll actually be moving both girls into the same room across the hall, so it’s going to be a bit of a process as I put it all together. That’s still a ways off, but I wanted to share this adorable sign I got for their room from House of Boys and Beauty.
It’s the lyrics from baby mine song on Dumbo. How stinkin’ sweet is that?! I put this in Alle’s room for now and I’ve been meaning to share it with you guys. I just adore that song and these words–they could not be more perfect for a nursery. And a great gift idea for anyone you know that is expecting a baby!
So I ordered this amazing braided hanging basket from Anthropologie after spotting it in Country Living magazine back in May. I was so smitten I ordered it right on the spot, but I think a lot of other people must have done the same thing because it was put on back order. I’ve been waiting weeks and weeks to get it, but it’s scheduled to be delivered the first first of July and I counting down the days.
I’m planning to hang this in our entryway with some pretty flowers for summer, but I think it would also be perfect hanging in the bathroom with a few towels, in the kitchen with rolling pins, hanging in the dining room next to the aprons, etc. There are lots of possibilities with a hanging basket like this, I can’t wait to play around with it. I also found this smaller one on Etsy. It’s more of a market basket style, which I also loooove for summer!
I’ve rounded up a few other options in case you’re looking for something similar:
11. Sevilla Tote Bag
Free Printable from Magnolia
I don’t know if you guys ever pop over to Joanna Gaines’ blog, but I was hanging out there the other day and I came across these free plant illustration printables. Aren’t these just perfect for summer? All five are available for free and you can download them in either the 5×7 or 8×10 size. You all know I desperately want to become a plant lady one day, so I thought these were so cute and I figured a few of you might enjoy them as well! You can get them here.
Well there ya have it for my Friday Favorites today. A little random, but what’s new, right? I hope you enjoyed it! And I hope your weekend is awesome. I’m planning to do a lot of walking and eating of spicy food over the next few days–I hear those things can help bring on labor, so it’s worth a shot, right? Other than that I plan to hibernate in my house and just try to soak in these last few days as a family of four. It’s really hard to believe this pregnancy is almost over. It’s kind of bitter sweet in a way, especially considering this is my last pregnancy and last baby. I mean, I’m basically overflowing with emotions right now! Maybe I just need to write a final pregnancy post before this baby comes to sum it all up? Possibly next week!
Happy weekend my friends. xoxo
