Today I am sharing 5 awesome and different ways to style a wooden crate in every room in your home. Sure, you might think a wooden crate is boring, but I’m here to tell you the possibilities are endless. And wooden crates are awesome. So today I’m sharing how you can use a wooden crate in your kitchen, living room, bathroom, sitting room, and dining room. And at the end of the post I’m sharing 7 farmhouse style wooden crates that I bet you’ll love. Let’s get this party started!
Every now and then someone comments on one of my Instagram photos and gives me a great idea for a post. That’s what happened a few days ago when I posted a photo of my new Magnolia Home Wooden Crate on our dining table. I mentioned how much I loved the crate and how excited I was about all the decorating possibilities. One Lovely Lady kindly asked me to share a few different ways to style it. BOOM. Done. High five Lovely Lady, thanks for the idea. Here’s the 5 different styles I came up with:
1. Dining Room: Table Centerpiece
I love the simplicity of this look. It’s just easy. I love easy.
2. Sitting Room: Farmhouse Vignette
The awesome thing about this crate is that it’s neutral and can go with anything and everything. I loved styling this little farmhouse vignette around the crate.
And if you’re curious about what the scale and vase are sitting on, here’s the secret:
I just used a large tupererware container, turned it upside down, and threw a piece of burlap over it so I could have the scale and vase be at eye level–instead of sitting down in the crate where we couldn’t see them as well. Easy fix!
3. Kitchen: Really Good Looking Countertop Storage
This is one of my favorites of the group. This crate is the perfect size to sit on the countertop with kitchen goodies. I love it! I’ll probably be using it in this spot a lot.
4. Living Room: Cubby For All the Things
You can’t go wrong with a little extra storage in your living room for all the things. I put this at the end of our couch and I love the fact the extra warmth it brings to this spot. Plus it’s somewhat unexpected, so that’s always fun.
And added bonus: it won’t break if one of my little people knocks it over (like that vase that we lost last week…RIP white vase.) That’s winning in my book.
5. Bathroom: Vanity Goodness
I saved my favorite for last. I mean, how gorgeous is this baby sitting in my newly remodeled bathroom?! (Get the scoop on that here.) I looooove this so much. Not only does it give me a pretty way to display a few bathroom goodies, but it’s not so big that it’s completely taking over my precious counter/makeup space. Perfecto!
That’s it! Those are my five easy ways to style a wooden crate differently in every room of your home. I’m literally obsessed with this crate right now.
